guv’s rep says at EDSA rites

Let’s leave the past behind and start moving forward in order to sustain peace and progress in the country, former Manapla Mayor Manuel Escalante, said at the 26thanniversary rites of the People Power Revolution at the Capitol Lagoon Park Saturday.

Escalante, who was supposed to deliver a speech for the governor as his executive assistant, dispensed with his prepared speech and spoke extemporaneously to a crowd composed mostly of students, provincial government employees, the military and police.

Ten more vehicles seized

Ten more vehicles believed to have been stolen in Luzon were recovered by the PNP Highway Patrol Group in follow-up operations in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, HPG director Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina said yesterday.

The recovery of 10 stolen vehicles in Negros Occidental brought to 33 the number of carnapped cars recovered by the HPG since November last year in the province.

Sixteen other stolen vehicles were recovered by HPG operatives in General Santos City in Mindanao.moremoremore

Alejandrino granted TRO

A 20-day temporary restraining order stopping the vice mayor and the investigating committee from conducting further proceedings in the administrative cases involving Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Secretary Nilo Alejandrino was issued by the Regional Trial Court Friday.

Alejandrino had filed a petition for certiorari with prayer for temporary restraining order under Rule 65 with prayer for TRO against Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, the disciplining authority, members of the investigating committee, and City Legal Officer Joselito Bayatan.

The investigating committee includes Councilors Dindo Ramos, Homer Bais and Roberto Rojas.moremoremore
