JSY Transport and Talisay City defeated their semifinal rivals Sunday to arrange a titular showdown for the Class A division title of the 12th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School on Saturday, March 3.

Top seed JSY Transport needed only a win against University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos/Polvora’s Law Office, 74-63, to claim the first seat.

The Talisay City Green Dragons, on the other hand, surprised No. 2 team, University of St. La Salle-Nhoj’s in the semifinals, 104-99, also Sunday. Talisay lost to USLS-Nhoj’s in the elimination round.

Tan Kek Pin was a basketball patron during the 70s in whose honor this tournament has been held for the past eleven years. The tournament is managed and organized by the Fil-Sino Athletic Club.*PNA
