White slavery raps
filed vs. 3 ‘pimps’

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Charges for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the anti-child exploitation and white slavery trade were filed against three suspected pimps before the Bacolod City prosecutor's office yesterday.

The “pimps,” whose names the police withheld, were arrested in an entrapment operation Friday last week near a hotel at Lacson Street and at a motel in Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod.

Fifteen commercial sex workers, two of them minors, were also rescued by the police during the entrapment operation.

City police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo dela Paz said they are intensifying their campaign against pimps in Bacolod as they are sexually exploiting women especially those who have no other means of livelihood. The entrapment operations against the pimps were conducted through the help of a Manila-based television network.

A CSW sought the help of the television network claiming that she and her companions are being sexually exploited.*APN
