Reshuffling to take effect
soon at BCPO: de la Paz

A reshuffling of personnel holding key positions in the Bacolod City Police Office will be implemented soon, City Police Director, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, said yesterday.

De la Paz said he will evaluate the performances of the BCPO personnel, especially the chiefs of police, and this will be the basis for the decisions on whether they will stay in their position, or not.

He added that police officers who are overstaying in their positions will be removed.

At a command conference held at the Bacolod City Police headquarters yesterday, De la Paz reiterated his appeal to the chiefs of police and other personnel to intensify their anti-criminality campaign.

De la Paz also asked the chiefs of police to double their efforts in curbing the spread of illegal drugs, loose firearms and illegal gambling.

He said chiefs of police should also serve as spokespersons of their police stations, and designate their deputy chiefs as temporary spokespersons if they are not available.

The media were encouraged to report police chiefs who cannot be reached easily.

De la Paz also announced yesterday the donation of P5,000 worth of gas stubs to the Bacolod police by the Coca Cola Bottlers Incorporated that will be used by the members of the Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives.

Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice president, Jose Maria Zayco, told De la Paz that other businessmen in Bacolod have pledged support to the BCPO’s anti-criminality campaign by donating gas stubs.*APN
