OPA dared to maximize efforts

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. encouraged personnel of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist to maximize their efforts in delivering agricultural services of the provincial government to the Negrense community, a press release from the Capitol said yesterday.

Marañon attended the 2012 Direction Setting and Thanksgiving held at the OPA Office, Provincial Administration Center Building in Bacolod City.

The OPA personnel also turned over their personal contribution of P22,000 in cash to Marañon as their donation to the typhoon victims in Negros Oriental.

Marañon said Negros Occidental ranks first in Region VI in terms of rice productivity and ranks 10th in the whole country.

He added that there is still room for improvement since there is so much to do to improve the productivity of the province to ensure food security and income generation and help alleviate the plight of farmers, the press release said.

The OPA personnel said they are willing to do their best to help Negrenses.*
