19 LCC teachers
taking oaths today

Nineteen new teachers from La Consolacion College-Bacolod who passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers held September 2011 will take their oath at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos gymnasium in Bacolod City, 1 p.m. today.

The new teachers are Rufalyn Albesa, Marnel Avancena, Eduardo Bacodio Jr., Gelkoff Calmerin, Lorina Divinagracia, Editha Garcia, Lenny Lape, John Mark Libo-on, Emilene Nadal, Erlinda Ogatis, Guillian Patigayon, Jolene Pilar, Ma. Josana Mae Posecion, Giesa Sarrosa, Johara Louise Tercio, Rico Janbeni Tupas and Gary Kim Valerio.

Two other passers have not been identified yet, the press release said. 

LCC-Bacolod had a performance rating of 35.71 percent against the national passing rate of 22.68 percent in the elementary education level, and  43.75 percent against the national passing rate of 31.45 percent in the secondary education level, it said. 

It ranked second best performing school among private higher education institutions with Teacher Education Program in Bacolod City, the press release also said.

Meanwhile, two graduates of Library and Information Science program of LCC-Bacolod, Ma. Gina Agusila and Anadel Jacinto, also passed the Librarian Licensure Examination held November 2011. 

LCC-Bacolod ranked among the top performing schools in the Philippines with an overall school performance rating of 66.67 percent against the national passing rate of 27.61 percent. 

It ranks second in the Visayas, after Central Philippine University in Jaro, Iloilo, with a passing rate of 76.92 percent; third in the ranking is the University of San Carlos in Cebu City with performance rating of 63.64 percent; with the University of San Jose Recoletos-Cebu fourth with 34.04 percent; and fifth is the University of San Agustin-Iloilo with 11.11 percent.
