Alvarez has perfect attendance

Rep. Mercedes Alvarez (Neg. Occ., 6th District) registered perfect attendance at the House of Representatives in 2011, but two lawmakers from Negros Occidental were among the top 15 with the most absences.

An attendance report of the House of Representatives posted at its website at www.congress.gov.ph shows that there were 59 session days from January 17 to December 14, 2011.

The two lawmakers from Negros Occidental with the most absences were Ignacio Arroyo (Neg. Occ., 5th District) with 28 and Rep. Julio Ledesma IV (Neg. Occ., 1st District) with 22.

The House attendance report shows Arroyo with 31 days present having spent two days on official foreign business, three on local official business, and 26 at actual sessions.

He was absent for 14 days for medical reasons, and for 14 days without notice of absence.

Ledesma was present for 37 session days with seven days spent on official local business, and 30 at sessions.

Twenty-two days were recorded as absent without notice for Ledesma.

The topnotcher in attendance among the Negros Occidental solons was Alvarez with 59 days present, having spent nine days on official local business and 50 days at sessions.

She was followed by Rep. Alfredo Marañon III (Neg. Occ., 2nd District) who had 58 days present with 13 days on official local business, and 45 at actual House sessions.

He was absent for one day without notice.

Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer (Neg. Occ., 4th District) was present for 55 days having spent 10 days on official local business, and 45 at sessions.

He had four absences without notice.

Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) had 54 days present with two days on official foreign business, four on official local business and 48 days at actual sessions.

Benitez had five absences without notice.

Rep. Anthony Golez (Bacolod) was present for 53 days with four days on official local business and 49 days at sessions. He was absent for one day for medical reasons and five days were recorded as absent without notice.

The three lawmakers of Negros Oriental recorded near perfect attendances in 2011, records of the House of Representatives also show.

Rep. George Arnaiz (Neg. Or., 2nd District) was present for 58 days having spent one day on official local business, and had attended 57 sessions, with one absence without notice.

Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong (Neg. Or. 1st District ) was present for 58 days having spent one day on official foreign business, six on official local business, and 51 at actual sessions.

She was absent without notice for one day.

Rep. Pryde Henry Teves (Neg. Or. 3rd District) attended 57 session days, had one absence without notice, and was absent for one day for medical reasons.*CPG
