About P8 million is needed for the completion of the new building of the Bacolod City Police, Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez said yesterday.
Golez said that he has allotted P2 million from his office for the completion of the building and assured that it will be finished before the yearend.
He said that the Bacolod Police headquarters also needs a major “facelift” and must undergo development plans. He said he had already coordinated with the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame for its completion.
Golez also said he is allotting budget for the improvement of the city police’s anti terrorism and anti-criminality campaigns.
Bacolod City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said they had to vacate the old building as it is already old and dilapidated.
De la Paz added that the old building was declared a fire hazard by the Bureau of Fire Protection this year after their inspection, because of the old and corroded electrical wirings.
He added, however, that not all the offices will be transferred to new building. Some of them will remain in the present location.*APN back
