More relief aid coming for victims
of ‘SENDONG’ WRATH

BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

More pledges are pouring in for displaced families in Dumaguete City and other parts of Negros Oriental following the devastation from Tropical Storm “Sendong”.

The World Disaster Relief Organization of South Korea, distributed relief items to “Sendong” victims in Dumaguete, Valencia, Pamplona and Sibulan Saturday, and will return to the province soon.

The WDRO sent two truckloads of relief aid distributed them through the Cebu-based Korean community, headed by Charlie Shin, in partnership with Philippine National Police Region 7.

In his message to flood victims, Shin said WDRO has been sending relief goods to Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, those hit by “Sendong”.

The Korean nationals, who visited a temporary relocation site in Junob, will return for another relief operation after seeing the living conditions of the victims.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police in the National Capital Region will also send boxes of relief goods for Negros Oriental’s flood victims, and those in Mindanao.

NCRPO- Police Community Relations Divison chief, Sr. Supt. Dionard Carlos, confirmed that several boxes of relief goods for Negros Oriental are awaiting shipment through courier or forwarding company that will provide free services.

Carlos was a former police chief of Dumaguete.*JFP
