Joy school spreads cheer

About 120 day care children in depressed barangays in Murcia, Negros Occidental, received new slippers, a Philippine information Agency press release said.

“It’s a free foot spa for the kids,” school administrator and program director Joy Barredo of the Joy School said.

“Jesus others and you ministries” rendered song numbers in a program, followed by the feet washing, the press release said.

Volunteer Lance Matthew Barredo who was celebrating his birthday spent the day with the kids and led in the distribution of stuffed toys, balloons, candies, cupcakes and cookies and souvenirs in the presence of local government officials.

A similar feet washing activity was also held earlier by the group in Bacolod City when couple Joy and Timberlane Barredo with the Department of Social Service and Development, gathered street children at the Bacolod plaza and gave them food and toys in a program, the press release added.*PIA
