Sharp, KMH rule bowlfest

Sharp bowlers ruled the Mayor Bing Cup Open division, while Kami Mga Hubin topped the non-rated bracket Cong. Doc Tony Golez Cup in the Quadro Invitational Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

With team members Rey Balaan, Mat Gaudite, Nonoy Hulguin, and Edgar De Leon, the champion Sharp Team claimed the open division title by beating the KMH squad represented by Wilson Casas, Jun Matalote, Django Jarina and Ricky Ondovilla in the final tally, 436-412.

In the non-rated category, KMH beat LJP Trading/NPBC in the championship, 420-393, to win the crown.

Chan leads Rain or
Shine in Game 4

Coach Yeng Guiao allowed Bacoleño Jeffrei Chan to play for 30 minutes and he scored three triples, four field goals, and two free throws to lead Rain or Shin past the rampaging Powerade, 110-95, to tie their best-of-seven seminals at 2-2 in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

It was the kind of performance Guiao was expecting from his players after Rain or Shine suffered a back-to-back setback in the hands of Powerade in Game 2 and 3.

Chan, who was born and raised in Bacolod City and played for the University of St. La Salle in his high school years, joined the PBA in 2008 after playing for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, where he averaged 18.6 points per game.
