‘Activist’ yields to police
for grave threats charge

A suspected activist from  northern Negros surrendered to the police in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, after learning the court has issued an arrest warrant against him.

He was identified as Felipe Levy Gelle, Jr., who is accused in charges of grave threats in Criminal Case No. 9-11-704 at the Municipal Trial Circuit Court of Guihulngan.

The arrest warrant issued by Judge Kennedy Duka of the Guihulngan City MTCC carried a cash bond of P12,000.

Gelle appeared at the Guihulngan police station at around 1:57 p.m. Thursday,  and was released after posting bail, Chief Insp. Errol Garchitorena, Jr., Guihulngan police chief said.

 Garchitorena said Gelle is believed to be a member of a militant group in northern Negros.*JFP
