7 events to roll off
at table tennis tilt

The Lopue’s Table Tennis Association headed by  Leonito Lopue and Silay Vice Mayor Mark Golez will sponsor the Bacolaodiat Table Tennis Open Tournament on January 21-22, at the LOPTTA Table Tennis Center, Lopue’s San Sebastian Annex Building, Bacolod City, a press release from the organizers said.

There will be seven events to be contested. These are the  Boy’s 12 years old and under, Girl’s 12 years old and under, Boy’s 17 years old and under, Girl’s 17 years old and under, Men’s Singles open, Women’s Singles open and the special event featuring 50 years old and  above and some professional players. 

Registration is free on a first-come-first-served basis and the tournament is open only for table tennis players from Negros Occidental.  Only a maximum of 32 players per event will be accommodated, a press release said.

The tournament aims to promote table tennis and camaraderie among table tennis players in the province and is conducted in line with the celebration of the Bacolaodiat Festival of Bacolod City, celebrating the Chinese New Year of 2012.

For more inquiries and submission of entries, interested parties may visit the club and look for  Mark Jimenez.  No entries will be accepted later than 6 p.m. of Wednesday.*
