Service with a heart

The Southern and Northern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. recently organized a noble medical and dental mission aimed at helping those in need of medical attention. The free medical and dental mission was held at the Amity Building in Bacolod City and benefited close to 800 indigent patients of the city. The project was made possible by presidents John Yap and Lucio Chua, of the Southern and Northern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry associations, together with the Negros Occidental Filipino-Chinese Amity Club, Inc.

About 23 doctors joined the charitable project by offering their services for free. They came from hospitals of the city such as the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, The Doctors Hospital and the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center. Medical associations and were joined by the Philippine Dental Association and the NatraPharma.

Through its yearly medical missions, the Southern and Northern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry provide thousands in free medicines to those in need. Since its creation in 1954, the Federation has strengthened its commitment as a partner in nation-building The Federation’s 173 member organizations all over the Philippines play vital roles in their respective sectors, industries and communities.

Since its beginnings in 1961, the Operation Bario School Project of the Federation has already built a total of 8,000 classrooms throughout the country.*
