Station 3 tops rating

Bacolod City Police Station 3 was adjudged as best performing station for the third quarter of the year and was given a plaque of appreciation yesterday by City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz.

With a total score of 760.5 out of 1,000, the perfect score, Station 3 headed by Insp. Jose Mulleta bested nine other police stations in the city.

Police stations 5 and 8 placed second and third, with the scores of 757.5 and 755.7, respectively, police records also showed.

Mulleta said they are happy to get the top spot in performance rating this quarter, having been in third place last quarter.

He, however, stressed that there are a lot of things to improve on, especially in the logistics aspect, because they do not have adequate personnel, while some of his men have no issued firearms. He added that they also need an additional car for easy mobility.

He also attributed their success to his personnel because of their dedication to the service.

Police Station 2, headed by Senior Insp. Lester Leada, was last in the evaluation rating for the second time and once again received the “Kalabasa (squash) Award”.*APN

Tanod injured in stabbing

A barangay tanod was stabbed and injured by a teenager in Brgy. 27, Bacolod City, at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The victim was identified by case investigator Police Officer 1 Gilbert Alunan as Henry Blasi, 53, of Purok Starapple 1 in Brgy. 27.

Investigation showed that Blasi was about to ride a trisikad at Purok Starapple when the suspect, Ramil Perez, 18, and his neighbor, stabbed him on the back without provocation and fled with the knife he used

Perez was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he is now confined.

Alunan said that they are eyeing retaliation as the possible motive for the stabbing because Blasi had scolded Perez’s father several weeks ago.

He said that Blasi’s condition is still not stable and he will undergo an X-ray examination today to determine the extent of his injury.

Alunan added that he will file charges for frustrated murder against Perez because it appears that the stabbing was premeditated, and that he really planned to kill Blasi.*APN
