Our Lady’s visit

BUDDAI

Devotees and churchgoers of the San Sebastian Cathedral yesterday and Sunday paid homage to the image of Our Lady of Fatima. It will leave early morning today, accompanied by Fr. Melvin Castro, the Philippine representative of the IDVS Foundation.

It was the Visionary Sr. Lucia who suggested that the new statue be made by the same sculptor, and the Bishop agreed.

On May 13, 1947, this new statue, the closest replica, was blessed and named the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima.

The original one remains in the Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal in whose crown is imbedded the bullet shell that was taken from the body of Blessed John Paul II, when he was shot in 1981 in the Vatican.

This statue is also known as the Weeping Madona. Physical cures, changes in expression coloration and even its pose have been documented many times, but the most important miracles, were the spiritual cures and gifts of the Our Beloved Lady.
