Police nab suspected
drug pusher

BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Police intelligence operatives arrested  another suspected drug pusher sometime  this week  in Dumaguete City.

Nabbed  in a buy-bust operation and a raid on his rented room in   Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City, was Ricardo “Jinglay” Ramirez, 38, originally of Barangay Tinago in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.

Police reports said that  an undercover agent transacted with Ramirez  to buy  shabu but the suspect fled  after sensing that a drug buy-bust operation  was  taking place.

Pursuing cops caught  with Ramirez, arrested him and confiscated from him a plastic sachet with suspected shabu and a P500 marked money. Authorities also recovered seven more plastic sachets containing “shabu”, tin foils, a pair of scissors and cash.

The police later raided the rented room of Ramirez   by virtue of a search warrant issued by acting Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio, Jr.

The search yielded  several  plastic sachets with suspected shabu residue, at least a dozen disposable lighters, rolls of tin foil, a few pairs of scissors and cash  from  his room.

The  police said Ramirez had been  under surveillance for at least two weeks before  his arrest following reports  that he was  in the illegal drugs trade.*JFP
