Reg’l sports heads meet today
to finalize 2012 WVRAA details

Sports heads from the six provinces of Western Visayas will meet today at the Governor’s Hall of the Provincial Capitol to finalize the details of the 2012 Western Visayas Regioal Athletic Association meet to be hosted by Negros Occidental in March.

The group will discuss the events to be included or excluded in this year’s regional meet, as well as the billeting areas and venues of the competition to ensure the smooth staging of the five-day sporting event.

Last year, the sports heads decided not to include sepak takraw, taekwondo, tennis and gymnastics in the annual WVRAA, claiming it was non-competitive.

TNT vs. Powerade
in PBA Finals

Rising from the grave after falling behind 3-1 in the best-of-seven semifinals, defending champion Talk ‘N Text escaped with a 92-91 win against Petron Blaze last night to return and will face Powerade Tigers in the finals of the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Earlier, Powerade secured the first seat after dominating the Game 7 against Rain or Shine, 107-98.

As the trade mark of their semifinal series, TNT and Petron trailed each other all throughout the four quarters. In the end, it was Tropang Texters who managed to capitalize on the breaks of the game.
