Board Member Melvin Ibañez (5th District) is the richest member of the Negros Occidental provincial board, based on the statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALNs) filed last year, which were released to the media yesterday.
Ibañez reported assets of P43,050,186.91, liabilities of P11,218,000 and a networth of P31,832,186.91.
The SALNs showed that 10 out of the 16 members of the provincial board are millionaires.
Among the top ten richest board members are Pedro Zayco (6th District) with P22,813,522. Manuel Frederick Ko (3rd District) - P10,468,676, Miller Serondo (2nd District) - P9,159,000, Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez Jr. - P 5,260,782, Patrick Leonard Lacson (3rd District) - P3,480,000, Salvador Escalante (2nd District) - P3,443,937.28, , Jose Benito Alonso (4th District) - P2,875,000, Emilio Yulo III (5th District) - P2,630,000 and Nehemias de la Cruz Sr. (1st District) - P1,703,000.
Board members with net worths below the million mark are Mae Javellana (4th District) - P964,290, Raul Rivera (Philippine Councilors League – Neg. Occ. president) who only listed his annual income of P866,120.92 as SP member and clerk of court of the Kabankalan RTC, Renato Gustilo (1st District) - P720,700, Helen Zafra (6th District) - P260,000 and George Gitano (Association of Barangay Captains president) - P189,000.
Thea Mae Dino (Sangguniang Kabataan Neg. Occ. president) listed her watch, clothes and books valued at P65,000 as her net worth.
The board members are set to submit their new SALNs next month.
