FORMER MAYOR CLAIMS
Report aimed to deodorize RPA

BY CARLA GOMEZ

The police report released by Mayor Andrew Montelibano on the ransacking of gamefarms that led to the shooting of his breeding partner, follows the same line as that of the spokesman of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army, Victor Sumulong, Former Murcia Mayor Esteban Coscolluela claimed yesterday.

In a letter to the DAILY STAR, Coscolluela said that the report is an “unfinished job” and “full of loopholes, speculations and innuendos” with only one purpose, to deodorize the image of the RPA.

He said the PNP claim that the loss of the gamecocks was an inside job and that the shooting of his breeding partner Bobsy Silverio was caused by a squabble with the “other woman,” is unacceptable.

He said Silverio was more than a full partner and asked if Silverio will steal his own?

The former mayor also asked if the hit on his farm and the adjacent farms belonging to Bingbong Coscolluela, Tuting Amarra, Baby Parreño and the backyard breeders in Brgy. Blumentritt at least 20 times in 2011 with a loss of at least 100 birds could be all inside jobs.

He also said his statements have nothing to do with politics, and stressed that he is enjoying his retirement.

Asked for his reaction to Coscolluela’s statements, Montelibano said first and foremost, he respects the findings of the police because that is their job.

It is not just the Murcia police but also the probe team from the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office that came up with similar findings on the incidents at Coscolluela’s cock farm, he said.

If Coscolluela is not contented with the police findings he can conduct his own investigation, Montelibano said.

Montelibano also said if Coscolluela wants to know the truth, he is willing to show him affidavits of witnesses, and his office is open to him.

He said there are affidavits of witnesses indicating that Silverio is involved in the disappearance of Coscolluela’s gamefowls.

The PNP is not desperate to discredit Silverio, but it also has affidavits pointing to the fact that Silverio's mistress was with him on the night of the shooting incident, Montelibano added.

It is his word against our documents from various witnesses, the mayor added.

As to Csocolluela’s statement that he, the RPA and PNP are parroting the same line, Montelibano said all one has to do is see the result of the investigation.

On Coscolluela’s linking him to the RPA, Montelibano said as mayor he is open to everybody, regardless of their leanings and will serve all those who are his constituents.

Montelibano said he is glad to hear Coscolluela’s saying he is retired and assured him that, as mayor of Murcia now, he will do everything he can to protect and keep his gamefowl farm peaceful.

As my constituent in Murcia I will safeguard his farm, he said.

On Coscolluela’s statement that such incidents never happened during his time, Montelibano said his gamefowl farm in Murcia had been robbed during the time when Coscolluela was mayor, and the incident was never solved.*CPG
