50 teams set to join
Carl Lopez bootfest

At least 50 teams will join the 1st Councilor Carl Lopez 7-A-Side Football Festival that kicks off January 28 at Bacolod City National High School pitch.

Tournament coordinator Emilio Goto said the one-day football event aims to discover more players in the city and in support of the sports development program of the provincial government of Negros Occidental and the city government of Bacolod.

With Dennis Estaniel as match commissioner, the football festival will have three catetories, the men’s open, boys’ Under 18, and boys’ Under 12, Goto said.

He added that 20 teams are set to join in the men’s open, and 15 each for Under 18 and Under 12 categories.

To finalize the details of the event, a managers and coaches meeting is set on January 26 at the New Government Center, Goto said.*NAB
