Happy New Year

buddai

Chinese New Year, the year of the Water Dragon. Like our own MassKara Festival celebration, it is one of the most colorful, lively, and entertaining affairs that I have witnessed.

The water dragon is said to bring good luck to all those born under its sign.

In preparation, the committee headed by Diotay Lopue and company prepared activities to entertain revelers, such as the colorful street parade, fireworks display, street dancing, traditional flea market, and food stuff – all Chinese products.

January 23, yesterday, the highlight of the BacoLaodiat Festival at the Bacolod Government Center was the Kapamilya stars’ performance in the afternoon, and various activities to entertain the people.

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

Brothers Angei, Alex and Alen surprised their mom, Agnes, on her 85th birthday at Kau-Kau Hawaiian Grill. She thought it was just a simple dinner for the four of them. However, to her surprise, when they arrived, she was greeted with the “Happy Birthday” song by her relatives and friends.

The celebrator is a retired teacher of the Bata Elementary School and her children are also educators, except for Angei, who works for a drug company. Mama Agnes was energetic. Through the advice of her three sons, she always plays, “swimming table” for good memory and strong hand,

At her age, Mama Agnes still goes malling alone.

A happy birthday, God bless, and good health!

Remember: To my DAILY STAR readers, our sincerest greetings to you and your loved ones for a Happy Lunar Year. May you be blessed with good health, good fortune, happiness, and love in this year of the water dragon.*
