for UNDOC members

The Provincial Veterinary Office held a Livestock and Poultry Seminar for members of the United Negros Drivers Operators Center Inc., yesterday, at the Governor’s Hall, of the Provincial Capitol, a press release from the government said.

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said the program is part of the Negros First Development Agenda of the provincial government, to help alleviate the plight of the marginalized sector of society and to reduce poverty in the countryside.

He said there are now about 900 paravets in the province trained to perform artificial insemination on animals and the PVO is helping them develop their skills so they will be well-equipped to take care of the animals, the press release said.

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena, said that their office will provide the technical assistance to UNDOC members who will be given free range chickens and swine for their initial production, the press release added.*
