DA keen to reach 2013
rice self-sufficiency bid

The Department of Agriculture is maintaining its 2013 rice self-sufficiency bid despite palay damage from the inclement weather last year.

”We're not reneging on such bid,” DA Secretary Proceso Alcala said.

He reiterated that the country is on the right track in its bid for rice self-sufficiency, noting that the DA continues implementing interventions aimed at further boosting nationwide production of palay.

DOLE WV gets
new reg’l head

The new regional director of the Department of Labor and Employment in Western Visayas will report for duty next month after a reshuffle order from DOLE Manila.

The new head is Ponciano Ligutom, who was previously assigned in DOLE IX and his Assistant Regional Director is Dax Villaruel, Crispin Dannug, DOLE VI-OIC regional director, said yesterday.

Dannug said 14 regional directors were reshuffled, including 10 assistant regional directors.

The Public Employment Service Office in Bacolod City has posted available jobs for domestic services crew personnel to work at Mc Donald’s, Kuwait.

PESO manager Moises de la Cruz, said yesterday that Blazing Star International Manpower Services will conduct its initial interview tomorrow at the PESO.

He said Blazing Star is one of the agencies that has been conducting jobs fair with them and has deployed workers abroad.
