A man who voluntarily turned himself in last year for police questioning on the death of a lawyer in Dumaguete City was arrested Wednesday in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental, for allegedly pushing illegal drugs.
The suspect, Ian Tumapang, 34, married, of Maayong Tubig in Dauin town, was arrested during a buy-bust operation by operatives of the Zamboanguita police station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force, and the National Bureau of Investigation.
During the buy-bust operation at Orillano Street in barangay Poblacion 2 operatives confiscated two transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a marked P500 bill, and a 100cc motorcycle.
Police said Tumapang is an alleged drug pusher operating in the towns of Dauin and Zamboanguita.
Last year, Tumapang appeared at the Dumaguete City police station after learning that he was being sought for his alleged participation in the gun-slay of lawyer Archer Martinez.
He was, however, released later for lack of grounds to legitimately hold him.*JFP
