Hospital cashier killed
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A cashier of the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City was shot and killed Wednesday, and his body, with a gunshot wound in the head, was found yesterday at Sitio Mambukog, Brgy. Zone 16, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Aside from a gunshot wound in the head, the victim, identified as Jude Ilagan, 36, of Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, also suffered a broken rib, his brother, Al, said.

Ilagan, a government employee assigned as a cashier of the TJPH, reportedly had a drinking spree at Burgos Street in Silay City, and had informed his girlfriend that he was on his way home on Wednesday night on board a tricycle. He was found dead the next day, investigations of the Talisay police showed.

SPO4 Carlito Ruales of the Talisay City Police Station, said they were texted by a certain Michael Quiachon that the body of an unidentified person was found in their place. The victim was identified by members of his family only yesterday.

Al described Jude as a good brother, and had no known enemies. Supt. Thomas Joseph Martir, Talisay police chief, said they are now exerting efforts for a breakthrough in their investigations, but admitted that they have no witness yet.

Meanwhile, a man who was reported missing on Tuesday, was found dead a well in Brgy. Recreo, Pontevedra, police said.

Senior Inspector Vanessa Sonoy, Pontevedra police chief, identified the victim as Abraham Coronel.

Sonoy said Coronel is believed to have died of drowning.* GPB
