Raps filed vs.
pa accused of rape
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

A truck driver who allegedly raped his own daughter, was charged for violation of Article 266 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday. Charged was the driver, 45, whose name is withheld, City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said.

The suspect has been detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 2 since his arrest on Saturday on the complaints of his 19-year-old daughter.

Among the evidences presented against the suspect is the complaint affidavit of his daughter and her medical certificate.

The daughter told the Women and Children’s Complaints Desk that her father raped her on Wednesday and Friday last week at their residence after he picked her up from her work place at Lacson Street, Bacolod.

She said she could not fight back as her father was threatening her with a .38 caliber revolver. However, the police were not able to recover the gun when they searched the suspect’s house.

In an interview with RMN Bacolod earlier, the suspect admitted that he indeed raped his daughter but was not aware of what he was doing because he was under the influence of alcoholic liquor.*APN
