Acting PEMO chief named
BY CARLA GOMEZ
Lawyer Wilmon Peñalosa will be the acting head of the Provincial Environment Management Office until a new PEMO chief is found, Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said yesterday.

Peñalosa is reluctantly taking on the job as he has other commitments to attend to, the governor said.

Ma. Aleta Nuñez, resigned as PEMO head, to assume the post as local liaison of the United States Forest Service based in Manila in its collaboration with USAID/Philippines to develop and implement a technical assistance program on forestry and biodiversity management.

Meanwhile, the governor said a bidding will be conducted for the purchase of more closed-circuit television(CCTV) cameras to beef up security at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.

The Capitol security group earlier recommended for more and better CCTV cameras to help prevent theft cases.*CPG
