ON TRAFFIC ALTERCATION FEUD

Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, assured yesterday the family of a Sangguniang Kabataan chairman of an impartial investigation if a formal complaint is filed against Chief Insp. Luisito Acebuche, head of the Traffic Management Unit.

SK chairman Karen Villarosa, 18, and her parents, Romilla and Herman, filed a blotter report at the Police Station 5 Saturday, and claimed that Acebuche threw a can of air freshener at their multi-cab over a traffic altercation.

They added that Acebuche badmouthed them and threatened them with what had appeared as a .45 caliber pistol.

Acebuche had denied the allegations of the Villarosas, and said he never had any confrontation with them before their meeting at the office of De la Paz Monday.

De la Paz reiterated that there will be no “white wash” if the Villarosas decide to file a complaint against Acebuche before his office. He said if their complaint has basis, it will be forwarded to the Police Regional Office-6 so that a summary hearing officer can be assigned.

Under the PNP disciplinary machinery, De la Paz said the complainant is given the option on where he or she can file the charges against a member of the organization.

The Villarosas are filing grave threat charges, while Acebuche is filing raps for reckless driving resulting to a near accident.*APN
