BCNHS, NOHS maintain
‘Triangular’ bowlfest leads

Bacolod City National High School Batch ’89, Negros Occidental High School ’85 and NOHS ‘70/71 Combined continued their winning streaks in their respective brackets at the ongoing Triangular Bowlfest for Unity 2012 at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The BCNHS ’89 pinbusters anchored by Nonoy Hulguin kept the No.1 spot in the class A division with a total score of 4,558 points, 129 points way ahead of second running schoolmates Batch ’79 with 4,429.

NOHS ‘82/86/89 climbed up to third from fourth position with 4,422 followed by fellow NOHS ‘73/74 Combined with 4,384.

Competing in the same category are BCHS ’72-76 with 4,365, NOHS ‘66/67, 4,347; DLNHS ’75, 4,298; BCNHS ’85, 4,219; BCHS ’73, 4,203, and DLNHS ‘71/72/79 Combination, 3,962.

Topping bracket B with two more rounds remaining are NOHS Batch ’85 piloted by Iran Pielago with 4,366.

NOHS ’97 is eight pins behind with 4,358, while BCNHS ’90 occupied the third spot with 4,304.

NOHS Golden has 4,240; NOHS 2000-Up, 4,232; BCHS ’74, 4,192; NOHS ’68, 4,174; DLNHS ’73, 4,161; DLNHS ’77, 4,084, and BCHS ’81, 4,052.

In the class C department, the NOHS ‘70/71 partnership spearheaded by Bonnie Ta-ala and Vita de Paula is heading with 4,297, while BCHS ’67 is in close second with 4,276.

Joining the rumble in the same bracket are DLNHS ’78 with 4,260; NOHS ’95, 4,146; NOHS ’80, 4,075; BCHS ’68, 3,964; DLNHS ’92, 3,835; BCHS ’75, 3,784; BCNHS ’86, 3,749, and NOHS ’99, 3,685.

The tournament record holders in the team’s highest single and triple are BCNHS ’89 and NOHS ’74 with 574 and 1,579 pinfalls.

It was NOHS ‘73/74 starter Hernand Garciniego who registered the highest pinning with 94, as BCHS ’74 sparkplug Norman Pineda holds the highest single and triple in the men’s bracket with 161 and 386.

BCNHS Batch ’89 Maila Balayo, on the other hand, posted the individual record in the distaff side with 92 in pinning, 133 and 348 in single and triple, respectively.

Meanwhile, Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc. will hold a “Single Bowling Fun Game” on July 11 at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley.

The event is a non-rated competition where the top three highest pointers after two games will receive cash prize at stake.

The curtain raiser of the Sharp organized Open Trio Bowling Tournament follows on July 13 at the same venue.*HLG
