NBI investigates 2
revenue agents

BY CARLA GOMEZ
The National Bureau of Investigation is conducting a lifestyle check on two officers of the Bureau of Internal Revenue District Office 77 in Bacolod City, NBI Bacolod chief Ferdinand Lavin confirmed yesterday.

Lavin said the Presidential Action Center forwarded the graft complaints against the two to the BIR Region 6 Office in Iloilo for investigation, that in turn, were sent to him for action.

“We are investigating a male and a female”, Lavin said, but withheld their names.

“We are looking into their activities, properties and travels as part of the lifestyle check, based on the records of about eight government agencies,” he added.

Revenue District 77 Officer Lilivic Gatdula said she did not know who were being investigated but is ready to cooperate with the NBI if needed.

She said she hopes that those being investigated are given due process.*CPG
