Coke celebrates Games
with collectible glasses

The Coca-Cola Company and McDonald’s Corp. will celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games with their customers through a collection of Coca-Cola London 2012 Olympic Games Glasses, a press release fromCoke said.

From 8-31 July 2012, consumers will be able to collect six different colored glasses, embossed with official London 2012 Olympic Games sport pictograms.

These glasses will be available at McDonald’s will come in a series of colors – Pink, Green, Blue, Aqua, Charcoal and Purple.

 Each glass is embossed with an official London 2012 Olympic Games sport pictogram – Gymnastics, Athletics, Swimming, Basketball, Football and Cycling.

As proud partners of the Olympic Games, both Coca-Cola and McDonald’s look forward to celebrating the spirit of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the press release said.

 Customers just need to  add P25 to every Medium Extra Value Meal to get one Coca-Cola Glass, it added.*

The Coca-Cola Company maintains the longest continuous relationship with the Olympic Movement. Coca-Cola first sponsored the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, and has provided refreshing beverages and supported every Olympic Games since.

 It also has developed a strong tradition of creating programs and events to bring the spirit of the games to consumers in Olympic Games host cities and around the world, the press release said.

McDonald's on the other hand, became an official sponsor of the Olympic Games in 1976 and has a longstanding commitment to the Olympic Movement.

At the 1968 Olympic Winter Games, McDonald's airlifted hamburgers to U.S. athletes competing in Grenoble, France, who reported they were homesick for McDonald's food.
