The Tanjay City government will do road concreting projects and put up farm-to-market roads in its barangays using the P28 million support funds from the Seal of Good Housekeeping award granted to the city by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Mayor Lawrence Teves said recently that Tanjay received the Seal for its implementation of good governance plans and programs, including the delivery of basic services to the people and sound fiscal management.
With the P28 million prize, the city government added P3 million as its counterpart for the Brgy. Bahian road concreting, and another P3 million for a farm-to-market project, Teves said.
He added that P12 million is allocated for the road concreting project from Brgy. Pal-iw to Sta. Cruz Nuevo, and another P13 million for a similar project from Sicopong River to Sto. Niño Center.
Teves also said the city allotted an additional P11 million for the construction of a seaport near the newly-constructed 700-meter boulevard.
With the seaport, the city government may allow fastcrafts to moor and take trips to and from Bato, Cebu, he added.*
