Overseer killed in
Kabankalan

A farm overseer died on Saturday, after he was stabbed by an unidentified suspect in Brgy. Camugao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, a police report said yesterday.

The victim, identified as Virgilio Sambilad, 75, sustained multiple stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.

Sambilad was an overseer of Hacienda Soledad in the barangay.

On the same day, a murder suspect was also apprehended by the police in Brgy. 13, Victorias City, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Silay Regional Trial Court Judge Reynaldo Alon.

Allan Mesias Vigor, 32, is now detained at the lockup cell of the Victorias City Police Station.

On July 6, a suspected marijuana peddler was also arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Sool, Brgy. Rizal, Silay City.

Supt. Rosauro Francisco, Silay police chief, said Rodney Bedol was arrested with three sticks of suspected marijuana cigarettes, P60 in marked money and P20 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of the prohibited drugs.

Bedol, 31, is detained at the Silay police lockup cell.

Meanwhile, an abandoned Toyota Avanza taxi with plate number FWV 921 was recovered by the police at Bag-ong Dalan in Brgy. Alicante, EB Magalona.

The Tanaka taxi was brought to the EB Magalona Police Station headquarters for proper disposition.*GPB
