BOLMSH needs more time
to comply with CBA: lawyer

The Bacolod Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital is not violating the collective bargaining agreement signed by its management and its employees’ union in paying the wages and benefits of its workers, BOLMSH legal counsel Elnora Abaygar, said yesterday.

“The management of the hospital is not running away from its obligations, but we just ask for more time to comply with our obligations,” Abaygar said.

She said the management is looking for funds and trying its best to pay the workers.

“We are in good faith to agree on and settle the responsibilities of the management to its workers,” Abaygar said.

The employees union of BOLMSH has recently submitted its complaint for voluntary arbitration before the National Conciliation and Mediation Board for alleged flagrant violation of the CBA.

The union claimed that the management failed to pay the four paid rest days for four months, biennial uniform allowance, non collection of membership and union dues, and their continued refusal to grant an office for the group, union president, Roberto Villaram said. *LTG
