Sports committee  to
meet next week

Athletic directors of NOPSSCEA-member schools are set to meet next week to discuss the calendar of activities including the sports competition and other programs of the sports committee, chairman Anthony Carlo Agustin of the West Negros University said.

He said he will meet with the athletic directors on July 17 and the tournament managers on July 20 for planning and deliberation of this year’s various sports competitions.

The 2012 NOPSSCEA is set to start on September, but Agustin said collegiate basketball is tentatively set to start on August 31.

Agustin said they need to start early to allow this year’s NOPSSCEA champion to join the Philippine Collegiate Championship League set in Dumaguete on October 14 to 16.

Shooting for its 14th NOPSSCEA collegiate basketball crown are the WNU Mustangs with last year’s runner-up, University of St. La Salle Stingers getting ready to grab the title this year.

Also strengthening their lineup in time for the competition are the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Rams and the Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod Eagles. *NAB
