MANILA – The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines is eyeing the Department of Energy's Electric Tricycle Program to fill in the vacuum in the production plants of local auto parts makers.
The initiative is motivated in part with the local auto industry's reeling from the impact of the departure of some local auto assemblers and lesser value-added parts and labor in most vehicles being sold currently.
EVAP president Rommel Juan has said that EVAP fully supports the ETrike Program since this will provide a fresh source of income and employment for the local auto parts making industry.
Get ICC stickers,
motorcycle drivers told
The Department of Trade and Industry in Negros Occidental yesterday called on all motorcycle drivers and back riders to apply for the issuance of Imported Commodity Clearance stickers for their helmets, Maximo Ravena, DTI Consumers Welfare and Trade Division chief, said yesterday.
Ravena said DTI issues the ICC stickers only for helmets purchased before 2011, while those obtained in 2011 until this year without stickers have to be returned to the dealers.
“Dealers have the responsibility to secure ICC stickers for their products and it is also mandated in Republic Act 10054 or the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009 that all helmets manufactured outside the country must have ICC stickers,” Ravena said.
