2,786 deployed
for employment

The Public Employment Service Office of Bacolod City has placed 2,786 skilled and professional workers last month, 2,740 of which were deployed locally and 46 overseas, Moises de la Cruz, PESO manager said, yesterday.

Local hirings were mostly for skilled work, job orders, and security guards, while nurses and domestic helpers topped the overseas employment, de la Cruz said.

In demand jobs abroad, were for mechanics, electricians, mechanical engineers, masons, carpenters, steel fabricators, civil foremen, secretaries, safety engineers, painters, and scaffoldings, he added.

De la Cruz thanked the recruitment agencies that conducted their special recruitment activities in Bacoldo City in partnership with the PESO and assured all applicants that recruitment agencies are registered with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and that they are safe from illegal recruitment.

Agencies that participated in last month’s SRA were Landbase Human Resource Company, OFW Recruitment Agency, Golden Legacy, and Ovation and Skills Agency while local job placements were channeled through Sky Cable for the sales agents and Royal Dragon for the security guards, De la Cruz said.

He also encouraged jobseekers to visit PESO at the 2nd Floor of the City Hall Building at Luzuriaga Street and check the latest vacancies, local and abroad.*LTG
