Mayor Bing’s birthday

All roads led to Forest Park Resort in Barangay Taculing, where the birthday celebration of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Ramos Leonardia was held on July 10.

We arrived just in time for the thanksgiving mass, concelebrated by Msgr. Felix Pasquin, Fr. Cornelio Moral, and Fr. Naring de la Cruz. The Leonardia family came in full force and daughter Kara took the time out to be with her papa.

Mayor Bing thanked everybody who came and wished him a long life and good health. His birthday wish was for Bacolod City to be among the premier and progressive cities in the Philippines; and for peace, prosperity, and unity for the development and progress of the City.

Then it was off to the pavilion where lunch was ready.

Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, councilors Em Ang, Caesar Distrito and Bobby Rojas, Dr. Dang Filasol and former councilor Lorendo Dilag, were in one table, and behind ours, the ever-popular Sunshine Boys and many more city and school officials, teachers and Mayor Bing’s classmates in high school from La Consolacion College.

When we bade adieu to our friends, the good mayor was in a caucus with the mayors of Negros Occidental and Oriental.*

Remember: God will never leave you empty. He will replace everything you lost. If He asks you to put something down, it’s because He wants you to pick up something greater.*
