share No. 3 standing

Boston Finance dominated Angels Burger, 94-76, to secure its fifth win in seven games an share the No. 3 spot in the team standings with Sun Cellular in the 1st PROBAC/LNA7 Invitational Basketball Tournament, Monday night at the West Negros University Gym.

Also clinching another victory was Watchmen Daily Journal, as the squad survived a high-scoring ballgame against Ink Icream, 125-121.

Taking control of the game as early as the first quarter, Boston never gave the Angels the chance to catch up in the end game as it coasted to a 72-53 lead in the third quarter with John Villaroman scoring 17 points.

Boston sealed the win in the fourth quarter with a 20-point production, despite the Angels’ coughing up 23 points.

Villaroman led Boston with 19 points, while Arvie Chua scored 13, Yan-Yan Dy and Rommel Lee had 11 points each, Brad Hojilla added 10 and Matt Delis with 8 points.

Alain Donesa topscored for the Angels with 27 points, Ronald Repillo added 12, Kennith Robante scored 8, GS Mapile finished with 6 points.

Meanwhile, a 38-point first quarter explosion from Ink Cream fell by the wayside as the Watchmen caught up with them in the next three quarters to get away with a four-point victory.

Watchmen wrest the momentum from Ink Cream in the second quarter with a 28-24 run to trail by two point at halftime, 60-62.

Trading baskets in the third quarter with Ink Cream, Watchmen delivered 48 points against Ink’s 37 for an 108-100 lead.

The win allowed Watchmen to improve its record with four wins and four losses, while Ink Cream absorbed its fifth defeat in five outings.

Pril Gacho led the Watchmen with 24 points, Jun-Jun Alisbo finished with 22, Nonoy Antonio tallied 14, Cesar Tan scored 12, Leo Mabesa, Marion Opu-an, Ronald Quilantang and Jesus Ynchino shot 8 points each, while Walkie Salbibia had 6 points.

Ink Cream was topscored by Michael Chan with 20 points, Noy Diamante delivered 14, Luigi Herrera, Teodoro Lara and Aljin Araneta contributed 13 points each.*NAB
