share No. 3 standing

Boston Finance dominated Angels Burger, 94-76, to secure its fifth win in seven games an share the No. 3 spot in the team standings with Sun Cellular in the 1st PROBAC/LNA7 Invitational Basketball Tournament, Monday night at the West Negros University Gym.

Also clinching another victory was Watchmen Daily Journal, as the squad survived a high-scoring ballgame against Ink Icream, 125-121.

Taking control of the game as early as the first quarter, Boston never gave the Angels the chance to catch up in the end game as it coasted to a 72-53 lead in the third quarter with John Villaroman scoring 17 points.

25 teams set to join
Open Trio bowfest

The Open Trio Bowling Tournament rolls off tonight at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City with 25 teams seeing action in the premiere rated division, non-rated and women’s categories.

Leading the teams vying for the title is Suppliers Friendship Cup 2012 champion Sharp with three team in each division.

The top four teams in Bracket A, B and ladies department after the 12-scheduled games eliminations will compete in an up-the-ladder system for the championship.

Condura takes lead
in BUS G cagefest

League leader Condura used its reserves in the final half to turn back Melfern-San Dionisio, 87-68, and claim the top spot in the elimination round of 2012 Sharp-Basketball Unified Sports Group Invitational Tournament, Sunday at WNU Gym.

Digol Benedicto scored 23 points, while Rene Antones added 10 markers as Condura finished the eliminations with a clean 5-0 slate to enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals that will start this Sunday.

Rene Verde and Jose Cadagat combined for 36 points by failed to lift Melfern-San Dionisio past Condura.
