NGCP conducts
camp defense drill
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

A camp defense drill was conducted recently by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines' Security Group at its Kabankalan Substation in Negros Occidental.

The drill, that assumed an armed attack scenario, was done in coordination with the 47th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, Elmer Cruz of the NGCP said. A similar drill was also conducted in Negros Oriental with the 7th Regional Public Safety Battalion, he added.

The drills are done nationwide to maintain the level of readiness of NGCP's security force and to continuously improve the interoperability of the company guards with units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, Cruz said.

NGCP is a privately-owned corporation in charge of operating, maintaining, and developing the country's power grid. It transmits high-voltage electricity through “power superhighways” that include the interconnected system of transmission lines and towers, substations and related assets.*JFP
