DAR installs
13 farmer-beneficiaries

The Department of Agrarian Reform recently turned over land certificates to 13 farmers in the 10.6-hectare landholding formerly owned by Trison's Development Corporation in San Jose town, Negros Oriental, a government press release said.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Stephen Leonidas encouraged the farmer-beneficiaries to develop their lands by availing of the projects and programs offered by the Philippine Coconut Authority.

He emphasized the obligations and responsibilities of the farmers, particularly in paying taxes and the annual amortization of their land with the Landbank of the Philippines, the press release said.

DAR Negros Oriental also distributed lands to 13 farmer-beneficiaries in Brgy. Maningcao, Sibulan town, from the eight-hectare landholding formerly owned by Julieta Pintor, the press release added.*
