NOPSSCEA hopes to join
next year's nat'l PRISAA

After opting not to join the national Private Schools Athletic Association competition in the past two years, the Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Educational Association might join the national games next year in Lingayen, Pangasinan, but nothing is final yet NOPSSCEA sports committee chairman Anthony Carlo Agustin said.

Consultations and deliberation will be made before an official announcement is made, Agustin said.

In a meeting presided over by PRISAA national chairman Emmanuel Angeles, held Friday at the John B. Lacson Maritime University Foundation in Iloilo City, Agustin sent WNU's Kim Dumdum to represent him.

The national PRISAA, held early this year in Cebu City , was hit by transparency issues after Angeles, who is a former Commission of High Education chairman, was designated as PRISAA emeritus. Aside from NOPSSCEA, another school that opted not to join the 2011 games in Zamboanga was Foundation University of Dumaguete City.

For failing to join the 2011 national competition, NOPSSCEA was reportedly suspended from joining the meet in Cebu .

In the meeting in Iloilo, Dumdum said Angles raised the possibility that the PRISAA may be accredited as a party list.*NAB
