Sabor Bisaya kicks off Friday

Food expo Sabor Bisaya will kick off with culinary contests, a trade exhibit, and seminars, at the Convention Hall of the Bacolod Pavilion Hotel, in Bacolod City, Friday, a press release from organizers said.                                         

Competitions, open to students and professionals, are on Chef Wars,  Visayan Cuisine Challenge,  Seafood Challenge ,  Organic Cuisine Challenge, Creative Fried Rice Challenge,  On-the-Spot Cake Decorating Challenge,  Bartending Challenge,  On-the Spot Table Setting Challenge,  and Na'Nam, which will exclusively accommodate student contenders.

It will also feature a trade exhibit participated in by various industry partners to showcase their latest products, equipment and technology, the press release said.

Among those who have confirmed to exhibit their products are Nestle Professional, Unilever Food Solutions, ISCAHM, Decouverte Corp., AICA, Equilibrium, Bakels Philippines, PFESCORP, Pepsi Cola, Loopex Equipment, Hydrocarbons, Pos Gasul, Savoroso, Manly Plastics and Magnolia, it added.

          A seminar by Dine Philippines 2012 on Restaurant Management Seminar Series will be conducted by Adolf Aran, Jr. on Friday at 1 p.m.

Speakers are John Lu Koa (French Baker), Chef Michael Oberle, Dan Francisco (The Big Chill) and Jack Madrid (Multiply.com) with tickets at P1500, the press release said.

A special rate of P1200 to students and faculty is also available, it added.
