Dacongcogon inviting Aquino
to see mill’s plight firsthand

The Dacongcogon Farmers’ Cooperative has invited President Benigno Aquino III to be its guest of honor and speaker at its 42nd annual assembly on August 31 in Brgy. Tabugon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

DFPC president, Rolando Parpa, in his letter to Aquino, a copy of which was furnished to the DAILY STAR, said the president can see the mill’s and its farmers’ situation if he accepts their invitation.

Parpa has been lobbying for government help to salvage the mill, that was severely affected by the financial collapse that followed Legacy owner Celso de los Angeles’ own fiscal problems.

De los Angeles bought the majority shares in the mill shortly before his financial woes unraveled*PP
