Toyota battles Ink Crème in
Probac/LNA7 q’finals

Toyota-Bacolod turned back the hard fighting Sun Cellular, 117-112, Monday night to remain on top and enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage as the quartefinal round starts tonight in the 1st PROBAC/LNA7 Invitational Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University Gym.

Toyota will face No. 8 team Ink Crème, while Sun Cellular, which grabbed the No. 2 spot, will be playing against TJ Construction.

Ink Crème grabbed the last quarterfinal seat by beating the Bad Boys, 102-94, Monday night.

100 Negrenses passed
SBP ref accreditation

A hundred newly-accredited basketball referees in Negros Occidental received their SBP IDs and uniforms yesterday from Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas provincial director Anthony Carlo Agustin.

The new referees received their credentials after passing the three-day SBP officiating clinic and accreditation seminar held recently at the West Negros University Gym.

Of the 124 participants of the clinic, Agustin said 100 passed, 20 will have to undergo a refresher course, and four failed.

NPBC/RJ bowlers pace
Friendship Cup tourney

NPBC/RJ Stars led Class A division, and Metro Sales, Davies Fusion I and Condura Ladies in their categories in the recent 19th Sharp Friendship Cup 2012 Open Invitational Trio Bowling Tournament at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

From No. 3, the NPBC of Steve Po led with 1,342 points, while former leader Sharp Team of Irne Diaz slipped to No. 2 with Nonong Ruiz’ TNT C-ZAR Machine Shop with similar 1,335 pinfalls.

Edgar Jerez and Romel Jover Davies “B” fell behind with 1,316 followed by Silverado/ASSFBI of Cecil Ramon Silverio with 1,304.
