KMU criticizes PNoy
over BPO job figures

The Kilusang Mayo Uno Negros criticized the act of the Aquino administration’ in promoting the jobs created by Business Processing Outsourcing, saying that that his administration cannot paint a good picture of huge employment of reserve labor force in the country but only intellectual labor, its press release said.

Ronald Ian Evidente KMU Negros spokesperson, claimed that millions remain unemployed if not underemployed especially in the countryside because Philippines remained backward and non industrialized to absorb huge unemployed workers.

KMU Negros said the Aquino administration cannot even statistically divert the Filipino people because there is no data to prove due to the huge unemployment brought by the contractualization policy of his administration.

The group lambasted the Aquino administration’s failure to include the growing number of overseas Filipino workers abroad because will bolster the data of huge unemployment in the country, the press release said.

KMU said it is sad to hear that while the Aquino administration brags of the huge employment brought by BPO industry, workers in the manufacturing sector, like Victorias Quality Packing Corporation, lost their jobs due to retrenchment.

About 40 plant worker producing sack for Victorias Milling Company lost their jobs since July 14 when Management declared "losses", the group said in the press release.*
