Silay hospital gets
P5M for indigents

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental, got P5 million as endowment fund from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, to be used for indigent patients in Negros Occidental.

Board Member Melvin Ibañez, chairperson of the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan committee on Health, said the P5 million fund is solely for use by PCSO requested patients.

During its regular session Wednesday presided over by Board Member Mae Javellana, the SP also passed a resolution granting authority to Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. to sign the memorandum of agreement between the PCSO and the provincial government, on the grant to TLJPH.

Ibañez said the fund will be released in two tranches for medical services to indigent patients.

The SP also gave Marañon authority to contract the services of Doctors Charles Michael Buyco and Maria Luisa Araneta as pathologist, supervising consultant, and sinologist at the Valladolid District Hospital, the Ignacio L. Arroyo District Hospital, Vicente Gustilo District Hospital and TLJPH in Silay City, respectively, from July 10 to December 31 this year.*GPB
