Cantil-e bags Teves Cup

Brgy. Cantil-e edged Brgy Looc, 77-75 and bagged the championship crown in the Gary Teves Cup inter-barangay basketball tournament at the Dumaguete City Quadrangle recently.

The Cantil-e cagers, led by Most Valuable Player Joseph Erolon, dribbled their way to the finals and took home a trophy and P10,000 in cash prize. Erolon also received a certificate and P1,000.

Second placer Brgy. Looc got a trophy and P8,000, while runners-up Brgys. Calindagan and Talay received trophies and P6,000 and P4,000, respectively.

Brgy. Poblacion 7, named the Most Sportsmanlike Team, received a certificate and P1,500.

Tournament director Joe Guirit said he is pleased with the turnout because all 28 barangays of Dumaguete City participated in the tournament, sponsored by the former secretary, who was represented at the awarding rites by former Rep. Meniong Teves (Neg. Or., 3rd District) and Councilor Dan Teves Leon.*RG
